Teach on the Beach has worked with over 800 volunteers from around the world who share a commitment to education, community engagement, and meaningful impact.

Volunteers play an active role in our core programs, particularly the After-School Program and the News Hour Program, where they support learning, mentorship, and youth development. Depending on skills and availability, opportunities may also include involvement in local or private schools within the community. Our volunteers contribute to social change across areas such as education, creative arts, music, dance, and technology, always working alongside local educators and community leaders. We prioritize collaboration, cultural respect, and hands-on engagement to ensure that our work remains community-centered and sustainable.

From application to arrival and throughout your time in Ghana, our team provides guidance and support to help you connect personally with our students and the Busua community. Volunteering with Teach on the Beach is not only about giving back—it is about learning, growing, and sharing an experience that leaves a lasting impact on both sides.

Just an awesome operation in the most beautiful setting on the beachfront of the best beach in Ghana. TheTOB family have such a wonderful energy and pure desire to have a positive impact on the youth in their community, you just can’t help but be drawn in and want to be a part of it. I spent 3 weeks volunteering with Teach on the Beach organization, and I wish I could have spent longer! William, Louis and staff are professional, welcoming and helpful, the kids are so fun to work with, and the location is beautiful. Getting to wake up right on the beach every day, and be a part of such an important service (providing classes for the village kids), was really rewarding. It’s also a great way to meet so many new people from all over the world. I could not recommend this program enough.
